Reissu alkaa olla lopuillaan. Eilen oli viimeinen työpäivä. Tänään operaatio "Pakkaaminen & siivous". Lento lähtee huomenna klo 6.45, täytyy taas herätä aikaisin.
Kun poikaystävä kävi täällä viime viikolla, minulla iski valtava koti-ikävä. Hän tulee minua vastaan lentokentälle huomenna. Kotona Kuopiossa odottaa sauna ja Fazerin sininen sekä tietenkin perheeni, kunhan pääsen sinne asti. :)

Trip is coming to an end. It was our last working day yesterday. Today's the operation "Packing & Cleaning". Flight departures at 6.45AM tomorrow. Have to wake up early again.
I'm gonna miss all the people at work and around. I've improved my English, that was the one of my main goals. Sauna, Fazer's chocolate and my boyfriend are waiting for me. Sauna and the chocolate are at my parents in Kuopio, where I'm heading later tomorrow. Can't wait :)

Venice, Italy
Tämä merkintä kertoo viime lauantain reissusta Italian romanttiseen pyhättöön, Venetsiaan. Matkaan kului yhteensä noin kolmisen tuntia pysähdyksineen. Ei yhtään paha, kuin että lähtisi Suomesta käsin reissuun.
Yllätyin, miten suuri Venetsia on. Kierrettiin mutkikkaita katuja. 3D-kartasta ei ollut mitään hyötyä.
Minulla ei ole muuta sanottavaa Venetsiasta, antaa kuvien puhua puolestaan. :)

It took us for 3 hours total to get from Ljubljana to Venice. Not bad, that it we have left from Finland. I was surprised how big it was. We wandered around the winding streets and got lost few times. 3D map didn't work at all.
Italy is gorgeous! I want to go back. You can't see Venice in half a day. We thought it would've been better to stay one night in Venice but the thought hit us when we were there already.
Anyway, I don't have much to say about Venice so let the pictures talk. :)
Yllätyin, miten suuri Venetsia on. Kierrettiin mutkikkaita katuja. 3D-kartasta ei ollut mitään hyötyä.

So much to do, so much to see
Hei, olen selkä!
Viime päivät olen toiminut matkanjärjestäjänä itselleni ja poikaystävälleni. Jos aikaa olisi ollut enemmän, olisimme pitäneet välipäivän reissaamisesta. Oli sen verran rankkoja retkiä. :D
Lauantaina kävimme ensin Ljubljanan linnassa. Näkymä kaupunkiin oli hieman erilaisempi kuin mitä Bledin linnasta. Lisäksi ns. turistipiha näytti juuri siltä miltä se kuulostaa. Ei alkuperäiseltä. Linnareissun jälkeen nappasimme burgerit kävelykadulla sijaitsevasta ravintolasta, ennen kuin menimme käymään paikallisessa "Heurekassa", Hiša Eksperimentov:ssa, joka oli paljon pienempi, kuin mitä Helsingissä.
Sunnuntai meni töiden merkeissä. Pääsimme roudaamaan ruotsalaista Amon Amarthia. Keikka oli Kino Siska -nimisessä paikassa. Rakensimme vähän lavaa ja valoja. Eipä siinä sen kummempaa. Tuli mustelmia, mutta sellaista roudarin elämä on. Keikalla minua alkoi väsyttämään, eikä bänditkään olleet meikäläisen mieleen. Porukkaa oli aika paljon. Poikaystävällänikin näytti olevan hauskaa. :)
Maanantaina hyppäsimme junan sijasta bussiin ja matkustimme Divacaan, josta taksilla Skocjanin luolille. Opastettuja luolakierroksia oli kahdenlaisia. Ensimmäinen johon menimme, kulki Reka (River) joen vierestä, se kesti noin tunnin ja maisemat olivat kauniita. Toinen kierros kesti hieman pidempään. Kävelimme läpi Skocjanin luolan. Luolasto oli kolme kilometriä pitkä ja korkeutta 144 metriä. Polku oli kuin vuoristorata, se mutkitteli ylös ja alas. Välillä olimme hyvin korkealla, välillä tosi matalalla.
Tiistaina, eli eilen matkustimme länsirannikolle, Koperiin. Koperissa kävimme syömässä ja kävelimme rantaraittia. Pari tuntia pyörittyämme otimme bussin toiseen rannikkokaupunkiin, Piraniin. Sieltä näkyi Kroatian rannikko. Joimme cappuccinot merenrantakahvilassa. Kaunis kaupunki. Kuvia löytyy merkinnän loppupäästä. Check check!
Työssäoppimista on jäljellä enää puolitoista viikkoa, joten aion ottaa siitä kaiken irti. :)

Hello I'm back!
In the past few days has been awesome. My boyfriend came for a visit last Friday. On the day after we visited in the Ljubljana Castle and Hiša Eksperimentov, the sort of science exhibition. It was like Heureka in Helsinki, Finland but a lot smaller. The view from the Ljubljana Castle's viewing tower was a bit different than the one from Bled Castle. There was no "wow" effect on it, also it was really windy up there.
On Sunday we worked as a stage hands on Amon Amarth (SWE) gig at Kino Siska, Ljubljana. Built some stage and lighting. Not so much work to do but I still got some bruises. I got a bit tired during the show and the viking metal (or something like that) was not for me. But for my boyfriend the night was successful. :)
Monday we went to see the Skocjan Caves (Skocjanske Jame) near Divaca. We actually booked the train tickets, but the train turned into a bus trip because of the damaged rails I think. It took longer than I thought, but we made it there. There were two kinds of cave tours; first one was "The Classic Tour" which went though the Underground canyon, second one was following the Reka River underground. Took many hours to get through both, my feet were hurting after that.
Yesterday we traveled to the west coast of Slovenia, Koper and Piran. Both were beautiful cities, I liked Piran. We had cappuccinos at the seaside. It was a really sunny day. Today my boyfriend headed back to Finland.
I have 1,5 weeks left in Ljubljana so I'll make a most of it!

It's not about the destination, but the journey
Tämä tarina kertoo reissusta Salzburgiin, Itävaltaan... Joo oli hieno linna ja puutarha. Satoi vettä. Jee jee. Itseasiassa tämä merkintä kertoo pikemminkin paluumatkasta.
Reissussa mukana olivat Aki, brasilialainen Greg (joka oli kuskina), kanadalainen Janice sekä Madzia, joka oli ilmeisesti puolalainen.
Salzburg ei ole mitään verrattuna siihen, mitä tapahtui matkalla takaisin Ljubljanaan. Valittiin pidempi reitti välttääksemme tiemaksut. Ei oltu ehditty edes puoleen väliin matkaa, kun vuokra-auton eturengas puhkesi. Tytöt lähtivät kysymään apua läheisestä talosta ja kohta eräs saksalainen(?) mies (joka ei puhunut sanaakaan englantia), tuli auttamaan. Me tytöt katselimme vaan vierestä.
Olen kerran elämässäni vaihtanut poikaystäväni autoon renkaat, hänen avustuksella tietysti, mutta puhjennutta rengasta ei ole tullut vastaan. Koko tilanne oli huvittava. Ollaan Itävallassa keskellä ei mitään, on pimeää ja kylmä. Pakkohan siinä oli vetää vitsiksi. Onneksi pääsimme kuitenkin turvallisesti takaisin Ljubljanaan, vaikkakin siinä vierähti useampi tunti. :D

This post is about the trip to Salzburg, Austria. Yea, the castle was awesome and the Mirabell garden too. It started raining. Awesome. Actually this post is mostly about the journey back.
I started the trip with my roommate/classmate Aki, Greg from Brazil, Janice from Canada and Madzia who is, as I assume, Polish.
The title says it all. Salzburg was nothing compared to what happened on the way back to Ljubljana. We took the longest way to avoid the highway costs. Somewhere in the middle the front tire broke down. Girls went to ask for some help and some German man (who didn't speak English at all) came to help us. Well, we girls were just standing and watching when the guys were changing the tire.
I've changed tires to my boyfriend's car with his help but I haven't had this kind of experience before. The whole situation was hilarious. We were somewhere up on the hill in Austria (in the middle of nowhere to be honest), it's dark and cold. We kept laughing about it. Luckily we got back safely, even if it took much longer than the other route.
What an ADVENTURE! I had a blast. :)

Bled Castle & Cream cake
Töitä ei ole pahemmin siunaantunut, siis olkoon. Meneehän se työssäoppiminen näinkin. Maailmaa nähden. Slovenia on tosin aika pieni maa, tunti suuntaan tai toiseen, niin olet jo toisessa kaupungissa. Ja niin tein tänään.
Lähdin "linnareissulle" Slovenian luoteisosassa sijaitsevaan kaupunkiin, Blediin. Olin jo ehtinyt suunnitella reitin. Ljubljanasta junalla Lesce-Bled asemalle. Sieltä vajaan tunnin kävelymatka Blediin, ei yhtään huonot maisemat. Matkalla törmäsin jopa riikinkukkoon.
Kun viimein pääsin Bledin keskustaan, kävin Honey House Bledistä maistelemassa hunajaa. Matkaani tarttui mustikkainen hunajapurkki, matkamuistoksi ja herkutteluhetkiin. :) Jatkoin kävelyä pitkin Bled järven rantaa. Seuraavana etappina oli kahvila Vila Preseren, josta innostuin ostamaan "Bled cream caken". Makua ei voi sanoin kuvailla. Se oli vähän juustokakun tapaista, mutta miljoona kertaa parempaa. Kakkupala oli iso; kermapommi kahden lehtitaikinalevyn välissä ja päälle ripoteltu runsaasti tomusokeria. Cream caken resepti kaiketi salainen. Hyvää oli!
Kakkupalan jälkeen suunta jatkui ylöspäin, Pyhän Martinin kirkon kautta Bledin linnaan. Sieltä oli upeat maisemat alas kaupunkiin ja järvelle.
Upea reissu kaikenkaikkiaan. Tuli käveltyä runsaasti ja hyvä niin, kaiken tuon unelmakakun jälkeen. :D

It's been a week without work. Ok, Easter holiday and everything... Oh well, time flies without noticing. Slovenia is a small country so If you go one way or another, you end up in another town. Just like I did today.
I went to a castle trip to Northwest of Slovenia, the city called Bled. My train ticket took me to Lesce-Bled railway station, where there was an hour walk to Bled city. Not bad at all. Beautiful sights on the way, a peacock for example.
♥ Cream Cake chapter ♥
When I finally got into Bled center, I went to Honey House Bled to taste some honey. I left there with a small jar of "blueberryish" honey. I continued walking along the side of Lake Bled. My next stop was a cafe called "Vila Preseren". I ended up ordering a "Bled cream cake" with a cup of large cappuccino. It was a huge mistake because the cake was so delicious that I almost choked by the icing sugar which was on top of the cake. Cream cake was a bit similar to a cheese cake but million times tastier. The cream delight was between two puff pastry sheets and lots of icing sugar on the top. I assume the recipe is secret. It was G-O-O-D!
After the magical moment with the cake, I headed for the top, to Bled Castle. The view from the top was amazing.
I had a really great time again. I walked a lot and for good!

Zoo life
Päivitystä päivitystä... Enpä ole jaksanut kirjoittaa, kun on muka niin paljon tekemistä. Tai oikestaan paljon nähtävää. Töissä ei ole tarvinnut hikoilla tai hätäillä, koska täällä etelässä nähtävästi työnteko sujuu hieman hitaammin, kuin meiltä suomalaisilta.
Maanantaiaamu alkoi sillä, että odottelimme ulkosalla muuta työporukka. Vajaa tunti tehtiin töitä, kunnes oli taas tauko. No, aika rento päivä silti. Lounaalla menimme työporukan kanssa johonkin BTC:n lähistöllä sijaitsevaan ravintolaan. Ruoan tilaaminen kesti melko kauan, koska tarjoilija osasi hyvin vähän Englantia.
Pari päivää meni rennon työn merkeissä. Eilen Luka antoi kuvitteellisen tehtävän. Meidän piti etsiä Thomannin sivuilta tarvikkeita pieneen teatteriin. Aloitettiin valokamoista ja etenimme kaikkeen pikkusälään. Listaa piti miettiä huolella, koska budjetti oli rajallinen. Siinä vierähtikin täysi työpäivä.
Eläintarhaan...
Tänään kello herätti jo yhdeksältä. Tein aamurutiinit ja suuntasin Ljubljanan eläintarhaan. Sää oli mitä mainioin, ei ollut liian kuuma eikä kylmä. Pysäkiltä piti kävellä jonkun matkaa, koska ns. "eläintarha"-bussi, ei kulkenut.
Sydän oli pakahtua onnesta, kun näin kaksi upeaa tiikeriä läheltä. Ei ole mitään niin kaunista otusta. En pidä kotikissoista, mutta villikissat ovat minun mieleen. Muita isoja kissoja oli gepardi, leopardi ja ilves. Upeita kaikki. Tuli ihasteltua myös riikinkukkoa, kirahveja, joutsenia, pikkupandoja ja mangusteja. Harmi vaan "Timonin" kaveria Pumbaa ei näkynyt. Villisikojen aitaus oli tyhjä. Osa tarhoista oli remontin alla jonkinlaisen maanvyöryn takia.
Ihan mahtava reissu. Poikkesin kierroksen jälkeen eläintarhan kahvilassa syömässä ja juomassa kupin cappuccinoa. Huh miten mahtava reissu. Matkan päätteeksi tuli ostettua iso tiikerimuki, koska tiikerit ♥.

I've been very busy here in Ljubljana, there are so much to see.
Today was a sort of a day-off. I went to the Ljubljana Zoo. My heart almost stopped when I saw two beautiful tigers behind the glass. I'm not a cat person but wild cats are my thing. Other wild cats I saw were a cheetah, leopard and lynx. They are all fabulous. Some other animals alsoo took my breath away: peacock, giraffes, swans, little pandas and mongooses. What a great day I had. Totally recommend it!
Maanantaiaamu alkoi sillä, että odottelimme ulkosalla muuta työporukka. Vajaa tunti tehtiin töitä, kunnes oli taas tauko. No, aika rento päivä silti. Lounaalla menimme työporukan kanssa johonkin BTC:n lähistöllä sijaitsevaan ravintolaan. Ruoan tilaaminen kesti melko kauan, koska tarjoilija osasi hyvin vähän Englantia.
Pari päivää meni rennon työn merkeissä. Eilen Luka antoi kuvitteellisen tehtävän. Meidän piti etsiä Thomannin sivuilta tarvikkeita pieneen teatteriin. Aloitettiin valokamoista ja etenimme kaikkeen pikkusälään. Listaa piti miettiä huolella, koska budjetti oli rajallinen. Siinä vierähtikin täysi työpäivä.
Eläintarhaan...
Tänään kello herätti jo yhdeksältä. Tein aamurutiinit ja suuntasin Ljubljanan eläintarhaan. Sää oli mitä mainioin, ei ollut liian kuuma eikä kylmä. Pysäkiltä piti kävellä jonkun matkaa, koska ns. "eläintarha"-bussi, ei kulkenut.

Sydän oli pakahtua onnesta, kun näin kaksi upeaa tiikeriä läheltä. Ei ole mitään niin kaunista otusta. En pidä kotikissoista, mutta villikissat ovat minun mieleen. Muita isoja kissoja oli gepardi, leopardi ja ilves. Upeita kaikki. Tuli ihasteltua myös riikinkukkoa, kirahveja, joutsenia, pikkupandoja ja mangusteja. Harmi vaan "Timonin" kaveria Pumbaa ei näkynyt. Villisikojen aitaus oli tyhjä. Osa tarhoista oli remontin alla jonkinlaisen maanvyöryn takia.
Ihan mahtava reissu. Poikkesin kierroksen jälkeen eläintarhan kahvilassa syömässä ja juomassa kupin cappuccinoa. Huh miten mahtava reissu. Matkan päätteeksi tuli ostettua iso tiikerimuki, koska tiikerit ♥.

I've been very busy here in Ljubljana, there are so much to see.
Today was a sort of a day-off. I went to the Ljubljana Zoo. My heart almost stopped when I saw two beautiful tigers behind the glass. I'm not a cat person but wild cats are my thing. Other wild cats I saw were a cheetah, leopard and lynx. They are all fabulous. Some other animals alsoo took my breath away: peacock, giraffes, swans, little pandas and mongooses. I was kinda sad because I didn't see "Timon's" friend "Pumba" at all. Wild boars fence was empty. They were renovating the zoo because of some kind of mudslide
